Response to Brief

Our group as been assigned with the task to create what would be the opening two minutes of a movie. We are required to research different genres and gather information from a select group of people to decipher what genre of film we should do. Our opening needs to contain obvious codes and conventions attributes so that the audience will be able to identify the movie genre easily. We have decided that the genre of our opening will be a crime mystery, this is because we all show and interest in crime mystery and have knowledge on the codes and conventions that go with that genre.

Preliminary Task

This link shows the preliminary task me and my group produced. This task was set to us by our teacher so that we could get an idea on how to prepare and produce a short video. We were given a short script and a list of shot types and rules we needed to use and follow. We needed to include: shot-reverse-shot, match on action and adhere to the 180 degree rule throughout.
